Artists included in the exhibition include GG & POP Institute’s Founder and Executive Director Jessica Ann Peavy along with Catie Dillon, Augusto Fanjul, Serron Green, Matthew Merkle Hess, Kevin Kedroe,Gregory Saint Amand, O’Neil Scott, Erik Sommer, Udo Spreitzenbarth, James Weber, and Will Woodrow.
This exhibition is inspired by the artists Philoche has championed over the years. While the works aren’t from his personal collection, the chosen pieces speak to the values, cultural curiosity, aesthetic preferences, and belief in emerging talent that define his legacy.
The works showcased from the Guy Stanley Philoche Collection reflect a vibrant cross-section of contemporary art. Representing a range of nationalities, racial backgrounds, and artistic mediums—from painting and sculpture to mixed media and conceptual installations—the collection is as diverse as the artists who comprise it. Some are emerging voices making their gallery debut, while others are mid-career artists refining an established practice. What ties them together is not only their inclusion in this singular collection but their shared relationship to Philoche, a Harlem-based artist and patron whose commitment to elevating underrepresented talent continues to shape the cultural landscape of the neighborhood and beyond.
